Recently posted a video interview about how he got started in the industry. He talked about things he did to get better at telling a story in comics and story boarding. He said he would put in a movie he loved and pause it at the beginning of each scene and draw a quick thumbnail sketch of the still frame. I saw that and thought that's genius! So I did that with one of my favorite movies and drew the first few camera shots of the film. Each one was meant to be really quick and more about the value study. Who can guess the movie? Should be pretty obvious!
at my art school they teach u to do like 10 thumbs of every drawing before you start to get a good composition, movie scenes are much more interesting to draw then still lifes though
anyway I like the right 2 better, the top one captures the hellish look of the city better, and profiles are always kind of fun.. plus the monocromaticness makes it stand out
sorry I have to crit everything, I'm trying to improve my skills and they say that helps

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
