Well, I'm a HUGE Michael Jackson fan and had been meaning to draw him for a while now. I wanted to do a digital print for the Zombie Art show this month and this idea popped into my head. Everyone says "Off the Wall" is his best album but I say..."Thriller"!
**EDIT** I changed it up a bit. Added some background zombies. Not sure if its better or not. What do you think? Print available here. CommentsI'm not a MJ fan by any means, but I LOVE Thriller. It's just so epic with the zombie dance and everything. The pic's pretty cool. Thriller ftw. <3
-- If I'm the first to comment on a Deviation that you posted about two seconds ago, it means that I saw it on the front page. How to get more page views: [link] Comissions? michael rules haha. Nice job.
-- "If you can't draw, keep drawing" "The only enemy is yourself" - Jet Li Looking for commission ? Look no further! - [link] I can actually almost see movement in this because of the pose you made him in, especially in the arms.
-- Heh heh, drawing is FUN! See? I'm really good at it![link] |

A couple things though... Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely illustration, but I feel that it could be so much better. You could have shown a bit more of your skills, of which I know you totally exude. What bothers me most, is the background. I know all too well that backgrounds are difficult and you may have wanted to go with a foggy-creepy-zombie atmosphere. However, I feel that there could be so much more to this, than just a few zombies in the background. For instance, you could have a group of zombies doing a particular move from the thriller dance or maybe a tombstone, or some skeletal bones.
Also, Michael in the foreground is suffering from what I like to call "floating away in nothingness." I know I'm totally hypocritical by giving this advice, because I'm totally victim of it too. I think though, that it needs just a tiny hint of a horizon line to add just a tad more depth.
All in all, this is a lovely piece - I especially love the glowing eyes. They're haunting, in the best way possible. You've also made good use of space in your composition. Just keep in mind, that you should challenge yourself just that extra mile when doing backgrounds. I know you're more than talented enough, just remember to strive.
I think you've done a wonderful job and I know it would have made Michael very proud had he've been able to see it. Legendary work for a legendary man.
